HTML Executable 3.0 is a versatile tool designed even for beginner
s and
advanced users. It provides you with powerful options and features,
allowing you to build complex and interactive publications. The followi
ng
list does not include all features but it shows you the most important
ones:
HTML Executable includes an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI
),
allowing you to access to the wished options quickly. It works with a
"tabbed" interface (see screen shots).
* All HTML files and related files of your Web sites are packaged into a
single executable file, for an easier distribution to your custom
ers,
colleagues, friends, and other users.
* Publications are compressed using the standard ZIP technology, saving
space and decreasing upload/download time needed for distribution. You can
set the compression level and decide which files you do not want to
compress (like Zip files, MP3 sounds...).
* HTML Executable creates two types of publications: Self-Extracti
ng and
HTML Viewer publications:
- Self-Extracting publications are ideal for their small size and
if you need to work with the latest HTML technologies like DHTML, Java
,
scripting support (JavaScript, VBScript...), XML. They require a We

browser on the destination computer (li Microsoft (c) Internet Explor
er and
Netscape (c) Navigator), what the most part of computer users already hav
e
(especially starting with Windows 98).
- HTML Viewer publications have their built-in HTML browser and do
not require any external Web browser. They can run on any computer w
ith or
without a Web browser. They work like traditional Web browsers because mos
t
users are familiar with thei navigation interfaces.
- Each publication type has its own features and functionality,
making HTML Executable very versatile: you can choose the publication
type
that suits your needs.
* Creates fully customizable publications: most everything may be changed
according to your needs.
* Easily manage files to be included in your publications like in Windows
Explorer; first HTML Executable lets you add multiple files, entir
e folders
or wild cards, or you can use drag/drop operations to add your files
directly from Windows Explorer. Adding, removing files is really easy
with
the buttons or the mouse context menu.
* Ability to work with multiple folders, including sub-folders: HTML
Executable stores path information and saves the structure of your
Web
sites!
* Creates publications with unlimited files number (limitations due to the
computer's configuration) up to 2 GB. Publications supports long filena
mes
and same names for multiple files if they are in different folders.
* Builds a unique executable file: you have just to distribute it and e
nd
users have just to run it in order to view your publication; no complicate
procedure is needed...
* Include your own messages, "readme" text at the publication e
xecution's
beginning and end, to inform your end users.
* Easily determine the look of the browser's windows: set titles, sizes
,
displays or even the icons to be displayed in the Windows taskbar...
* Creates interactive user interfaces: toolbars, menu bars and other
components can be fully customized with the integrated object editor;
design hot buttons displaying the bitmaps you want, select the color to be
used for the status bar or even display your own logo on the toolbar...
Most everything is allowed: you are able to create the publications of your
dreams.
* Decides which operations are authorized in your publications: for
instance you can prevent end users from copying HTML contents to the
clipboard or from printing your pages.
* Supports advanced pages protection: each HTML page can have its own
security options; end users may be prompted for a password before they are
allowed to access such page. You can disable the 'copy to clipboa
rd'
feature for a specific HTML page only...
* Once your files have been compiled into a publication, end users will not
be able to extract and reuse them; in fact HTML Viewer publications do
not
require files to be extracted for displaying them (they directly read
data
from memory). This feature is available with HTML Viewer publications only.
* All HTML Viewer publications include a search engine, allowing end users
to search for queries through your HTML pages.
* HTML Viewer publications support advanced features like pages print
preview, search engine, browser's context menu...
* Display your own animations and texts during files extracti
on for
Self-Extracting publications. You can moreover create publications
that
support silent extraction: once end users have started your publicat
ion,
files are directly unpacked and the Web browser will be immediately
displayed.
* Publications support many security options like global password
protection, trial date (publications will expire after a specified d
ate)
and restrictions on HTML pages.
* Support for advanced localization of your publications: everything can be
translated in the language of your choice. You can edit resource strings
and system HTML pages, or modify a specific string according to your needs.
Moreover you may import/export language files for later use. Edi
ting
strings does not require external tool: use the built-in editor of
HTML
Executable.
* Choose the default icon for your publication: this icon (standard ".ico
"
format) will be used to represent your publication in Windows Explo
rer.
HTML Executable now supports any icon size and color! It will automatic
ally
replace the default icon in the executable's resources section.
* Ability to modify the version information of generated executable file

display your own copyright text, file description, Web homepage
in
executable files. So end users will always know how to reach you in cas
e of
unknown errors: when version information is included, end users user can
right-click the program icon and select "properties" to display the

information.
* Your Web sites are protected inside publications against extern

modifications because publications perform integrity checks before running.
* Projects can of course be loaded and saved. Moreover HTML Executab
le
supports command line options (switches).
* HTML Executable supports managing user tools: access to the most us
ed
tools like your HTML editor, graphic program directly from HTML Executa
ble.
* An advanced compilation log is always displayed after building your
publication.
* HTML Executable comes with an online help: just press F1 (or click
on the
Help button) and the related help topic will be shown.
* Language files, icon resources and a demonstration have been added to the
package.
